In 5.5 they have basically reached feature parity. The decision between the
two comes down to who is going to manage networking.
If the networking team is going to manage networking, then give them an
NXOS interface they are familiar with and keep them out of vCenter.
If the virtualization team is going to manage networking then do it from
vCetner with the VDS.
If you want NSX (logical firewalls or network virtualization) you need the
VDS.
