ok,,,just trying to be clear on this,
If I have two ESXi Servers and just installed ESXi on them and set an Ip of 192.168.0.10 and 192.168.0.20 (did not set the vlan id) and they are plugged into the first physical nic(0) on each server.
this means the default mgt network for each will be on vSwitch0 on vNic0
Then, on the Cisco, create a VLAN, say VLAN99 and make it a trunk, and assign ports 2 and 3.
Connect ESXi Servers from nic(0) to ports 2 and 3.
I can then login to the vSphere client, and should see vSwitch 0 with vNic0 and no VLAN ID assigned?
Can I then create other vSwitch's and assign nics and port groups and also on the Cisco, create a trunk ?
I want to create a vSwitch and use it for VM traffic and use one 10g nic that will support multiple port groups with VLANS
The 10g nic will plug into a trunk port on the Cisco switch to support multiple VLANS.
We want to use this for a StarWind Virtaul SAN connection.
