Welcome to the Community - Ideally vmotion traffic should be on its own isolated network - who many physical NICs do you have in you ESXi host?

Its always a best practice to have vMotion in a separate network to avoid the bottle necks. As said above , if you have physical NIC's available you can have that dedicate for vMotion

Definitely depends on if you are using 1GB or 10GB and how many physical nics in the host. Also what version of vSpere you using (Ent, Ent+, etc.) And if you are planning on using vDS (vSphere...

Each host has 8 nics, the SAN has 10 nics. The current plan is as follows: ISCSI NetworkSAN / 8 nics. 4->iswitch1 & 4->iswitch2HOSTS: 2nics, 1->iswitch1, 1->iswitch2 Core Network ( Our...

As mentioned earlier, the script that you are running is pulling in the "Observed IP Ranges" field from the NIC, which is next to worthless for getting an accurate read on a NIC. It will only show...

I've run into this situation many times. It's definitely a viable solution to create a single VDS with 6 uplinks defined and only consume 2 of them with your blade infrastructure. The 10Gb blades will...

This is disappointing. VMware specifically calls this "CDP". Yet it does not in fact implement the true cisco discovery protocol either in the network health check or through any of the command line...

Yes I would place the backup traffic within the same switch that management and vMotion is located whether using vSS or vDS. The other option would be to scale down your vDS for NFS Traffic from 4...
