You can use vDS health check to confirm there is no configuration mismatch.  It is possible that you have VLAN mismatch or your portgroup vlan tagging is misconfigured.

You can disconnect esxi, remove it and add it to another vCenter without downtime to the VMs.  This will not impact the VM unless of-course you are using vDS which is dependant on vCenter.
